I "trust" it insofar as I am sure it is run legally; but very rarely play it because the odds of winning anything in such lotteries are so small.
I used to play the National Lottery, but was not impressed to find its operating company, Camelot, is not British but owned by a Canadian trade-union so its profits after "good causes" and taxes are a loss to the UK. (I should say I am a union member myself.)
It was 6 draws from 49 numbers, with a £1 stake. That gave odds against the jackpot of around 13 000 000 : 1.
Though drawing 3 correct numbers won you £9 (i.e. £10 prize minus the weekly £1 stake), as I did win a few times. Drawing 4 correct gave a 2-digit prize, and I once won £45 (well, £44).
Sometimes I went mad and bought 2 X £1 tickets!
Then Camelot doubled the stake to £2 and upped the odds for itself by making it 6 numbers from 50. So vastly diminishing the chance of winning anything, by an extra 50 times. (I forget the formula but it works by factorials.).
I gave up and have hardly bought a single ticket since - in the past 20 years I suppose.
That was ther Nartional Lottery. I don't suppose the Euromillions is any better, though people do win the jackpots.
So, yes, I trust it legally, but what a waste of money.
