I've just posted a lengthy response to a members question on how do the Royal family generate income for the UK .

Typical of me I went into one lol ..so decided to save my response as a separate post
see below

🙂Maybe there are other thoughts out there?

*************************

hello there thanks for asking

Before I launch into how much commercial revenue this family generates .

I would like to turn your attention to the good long standing relations.

Both here at home in the UK, and Internationally which the Monarchy have fostered over many in many cases hundreds of years .

The many charities for all members of British and International society's, across the board.

Who have benefited immensely from royal patronage.

My favourite being the Princes Trust -
a charity begun by the then Prince Charles.

With the aim of supporting Young People who are on the fringes of Society ,& without the necessary parental or family support needed .

To see them onto further education, training , and self employment after leaving care or school.

Many of those youngsters were supported beyond leaflets and lip service.

By way of qualified mentor support, and financial assistance.

They are now running successful businessess & have successful jobs careers

The charity still continues helping disenfranchised youth of Great Britain today.

Now the commercial revenue -

This happens in a number of ways The Royal residences are of historical interest and each year tourists arrive to visit them

1. Initially generating revenue within the Travel industry .

2. After which the Hotel and Hospitality industry profit immensely.

3 then the ground Transport industry Car rentals , Black Taxis in traditional London Transport Bus & Thames boat tours in particular.

4 Other typical excursions will include Historical places of interest, also our Theatres and other British , Exhibitions of interest . Of which there are many .

Last but not least millions of tickets sold each year to tour r the royal residences ,

From Buckingham Palace to Balmoral
Trooping of the Colour Events

Billions of Souvenirs & Memorabilia are a constant source of retail income from the production line - to retail profit .

It's also likely by default I've left lots out
But think of the jobs and careers tagged to the industry's already mentioned.

Tourism on this scale is a year in year out event .

We must also remember
We have the only Fully Operational Monarchy in Europe, think England think Royalty - think Royalty think England.

It's a fantastic tradition .

Of course not everyone is 'Pro Royal ' however f you would like an idea of numbers who are both at home and abroad.

Take a look at our most recent event the Coronation.

Millions if Not Billions of viewing figures live streamed from around the world.

And still the numbers of British people and tourists who had queued for many days ahead of the events. Lined the streets of England
Celebrated in pubs & held parties 🎉

Facts are people Enjoy tracing History & historical facts.
Especially when the present is still aligned and tangible .

People like and appreciate Tradition, especially when it is still very much aligned and tangible.

The Monarchy is representative of these matters of interest.

And this is why they give so much more than they cost.

I didn't see all of the televised event . But I believe the words '"Service & to Serve " were mentioned .
Think of our late Queen.

It truly is what they have done & do best 🇬🇧

The royal residences would still be interesting if there were no more royals and the UK would still have massive tourism without this classist blood stained institution.

There should be no place for monarchies in todays world and I hope that more and more countries will leave the commonwealth.
It's a horrible institution with no value. Tradition alone is a very weak argument.

@SilkandLace2 ditto 🤗💗🍓
They do not help people. Nah they are not really helping people to get jobs and whatever you are preaching/ranting about here.

"British" lol they are GERMAN and always will be. THEY changed their last name in and during second world war to hide who they really are..

They do not care about anyone apart from themselves.

Down with the royal families everywhere and they should not even be royal family.

People are BRAINWASHED and pushed into the narrative to like that creepy family. But a lot do not like them.

@jshm2 it's okay to disagree with another's opinion , after all debates are healthy. However there really was no need to be rude and condescending.

Also accusing "my type " as being in league with Slavery, Racism and Segregation is an Extremely low blow .
As nothing could be further from the truth.

You cannot and should not lump every evil under the sun
To my response to the question of how the monarchy generates revenue as business .. because that was question.
