Ukraine War Costs

US spending to counter Russian war effort exceeds first 5 years of war costs in Afghanistan. I wonder what other countries are contributing and what this is actually accomplishing.

The only thing it's accomplishing is them potentially getting what they want which is a less dominant Russia. Ukraine is strategically important to the West, and they stand to gain a lot if they can keep Russia out.

@SW-User What does the US get for the investment?
SW-User
@carpediem The main thing is gas. And it gets to maintain geopolitical power. Ukraine is extremely important to the West lol.

@SW-User Natural gas?

@SW-User We have plenty here. More than any place on earth. I think the benefit of Ukraine is a money laundering opportunity and a place to research biological and chemical weapons outside of prying eyes.
SW-User
@carpediem Those are some of the reasons.

The U.S produces the most natural gas but it does not have the most natural gas. It does have more than Ukraine, but for a country in Europe Ukraine has a lot and that is extremely beneficial to the U.S both financially and in terms of strengthening western commercial control.

@newjaninev2 It's easy to spot the foreign agents. They always take the side of Russia in discussions such as this.

Why is that?
SW-User
@newjaninev2 Because it's extremely biased and don't properly report on news.
