Слава Україні! Героям слава!

While in no way condoning the Russian action, I think you should take all these Ukrainian claims about constant victories with a large pinch of salt. They are certainly winning the propaganda war, but on the ground, sadly, Russia appears to be close to achieving the Donbas and a southern land corridor.

@ArthurP Taking land is very different to holding land. The russian barbarians have a new Afghanistan... and the outcome will be the same.

@KiwiBird Under the best circumstances, Russia occupies Ukraine and the occupiers have to worry about being shot to death by grandmothers/snipers, housewives/snipers, street vendor/snipers, school kids/snipers, etc. The US was able to overrun Iraq and then had to worry about US troops getting their legs blown off by IEDs. Occupation is not fun for the occupiers.
@graphite And they are far less disciplined, equipped, and ready then we were. Anytime you are dealing with a dug in counter insurgency that is ready and willing to die for their country and fighting urban gorilla warfare… it’s bad news for the other side. They will not win like the wanted but at such a great cost for all. This is horrible in death and destruction.

Interestingly the General in charge of the USMC has announced that, based in part on the Russian experience in Ukraine, he will no longer invest in tanks for Marine use.

@redredred MBT's are pretty much obsolete in modern warfare anyways; Mechanized Infantry is far more practical

Russia's "invincible" military is not looking so hot. Putin might have to scale back on his dream of re-establishing the Soviet Union.
