The Plight of a Turkey

The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that more than 46 million turkeys are killed and eaten in the United States on Thanksgiving Day each year.

Here are some other facts about turkeys and Thanksgiving:
Factory farming:
99.8% of turkeys killed for Thanksgiving spend their entire lives in factory farms, never seeing their mothers or experiencing the warmth of a nest.

Compassionate alternatives
You can celebrate Thanksgiving in a more compassionate way by adopting a turkey instead of eating one.

I am no turkey, thanks given but I eat like a pig.

I personally find it a barbaric tradition but at least for one of them, the presidential pardon will allow it to live full 2 additional months.

Let's see what happens next year. Century long traditions may be broken 😞
