Aspects of Spain : Gosh I forgot a fiesta.
Tuesday was the feast of San Joan.
Not Joan as in George Bernard Shaw’s Saint Joan. But dear old John the Baptist.
Although not many Spanish are Catholics now, they still love the religious fiestas.
In Catalonia they took both Monday and Tuesday off work, so that meant a lovely break of four days in Barcelona. If you had business there, tough.
In Andalucia there were fireworks at sea at midnight and loads of loud music too. Alas the people went to work the next day.
Here is Motril at midnight. Sorry no fireworks, I was not expecting any.
