I want to go so badly someday. 😌 See where my ancestors came from haha. (Just Scotland in general, not really sure the exact part. 🤔)

@thepreposterouspanda I'm sure you could, one day? A lot of Americans, Canadians, Australians, etc come to Scotland to find where their ancestors lived ❤️

@Fluffybull Possibly. :) My health makes travel a much bigger obstacle than it used to be, unfortunately. I'm not sure my legs would handle the plane ride at this point. 😅

@thepreposterouspanda Well, you can trace your ancestors on the internet if you have a few names, dates, basic details. Then you could Google the places they lived maybe. I know some Facebook groups can be helpful in finding local links and general info 🤗

@Fluffybull I'm fortunate enough to have a lot of that info to begin with actually! Just have to dig it up somewhere. :3
My whatever-grandfather was a minister who came over from Scotland during the Civil War and settled here in Georgia. :)

@thepreposterouspanda Wow! An interesting time for your ancestor to move to America!

@Fluffybull Very much so! He came over with two brothers, one of whom went to New York and the other to Canada; have a letter between them expressing concern for Simon (my ancestor) because they hadn't heard from him in a while. We also have the letter from Simon to them explaining that General Sherman had come through, ransacked and burned his farm, but left him alive because he was a minister and it was considered bad luck to kill them.
Pretty crazy stuff. :)
