@ArishMell How do we keep informed about the plight of those in Gaza, Palestine and Lebanon. I belong to two organisation: medical aid for Palestinians , and British Jews for Palestine. I go to concerts which raise money. Most people do not have a clue what is happening there.
Rallies and free speech are part of our democracy. And no, our government and Tory opposition do not know what is best!

@peterlee If they don't know, they are clearly not listening to the News.
It is extemely difficult and dangerous for journalists in the Middle East. The Israeli government and IDF do all they can to prevent them investigating; but have not entirely managed to silence the Palesinians and Leabanes. The BBC and likely other news organisations have networks of local and foreign-aid contacts - not all of them journalists - to interview.
So we do know what is going on - its is being reported regularly and frequently as far as possible.

Rallies aand free speech are part of our democracy yes - but we need examine why some police officers and piliticians believe they need controlling. Need examine why some demonstrators and "free speakers" want to turn that part of democracy against itself.
Singing "Intifada Ra-ra-ra" or whatever is that childish slogan, does nothing useful.
Far worse though are those exploiting the right to demonstrate, as a self-taken "right" to advocate and encourage serious crime. It is these self-serving cowards who are the enemies of our right to be self-satisfied banner-wavers; not the legitimate authorities.
I do think one move the politicians ought do, is simplify, clarify and make more obvious the law by removing categories like "hate speech", "terrorist", etc. This is to discourage what are really, just serious but ordinary offences being categorised as somehow "special".
Gratuitous insults may already be considered a form of assault, and should simply be that, be they racist, nationalist, any other antisocial "anti-ist" or no particular "ist" at all. This would apply to the accusation as well as charge title.
Libel and slander are already civil-law matters. Inciting violence against certain groups of society should attract the charge of inciting violence full-stop.
Attacking or killing are assault, manslaughter, murder or attempted murder as the case may be, irrespecive of the attacker's own-imagined reason. Even an outrage like a bombing or using a vehicle to ram a crowd, should still be treated just as actual and attempted murders.
Setting a building alight is arson; irrespective of the building's and its users' rightful purposes.
The motive of any offence is a rightful matter of evidence, examination and sentence-assessment in the Crown Court trial; but I don't think there is a place for specific offences by motive. I would extend that to all those "Blogg's Law" actions, too.
Under these, I would still advocate for regulations against discrimination, and for the charge of "coercive and controlling behaviour" most often committed domestically but might also be applied to some cults.

Are they likely to change anything?

@FreddieUK I dont think people are even aware. Terminally ill, psychiatric patients, without treatment. 50% population under 15.
In the West Bank children denied education.
All we can do is pray that God’s goodness and mercy will prevail.
At least David Cameron, when Foreign Secretary did all he could to get humanitarian aid through. He worked tirelessly.
Personally, I support Medical Aid for Palestinians. Not prescribed by Starmer, at the moment at least.

@peterlee I think you’re right that most of our population aren’t aware of these matches unless you happen to be in London. But I imagine if you are a British Jew, subject to what seems to you to be antisemitic chanting weak by week you would be more than aware of it.
My fear is that we once again end up with a polarised discussion where one horrible wrong is juxtaposed with another horrible wrong and one is not allowed to call out both at the same time without being accused of taking sides with something about.
