Remember when the world branded Nelson Mandela a terrorist only to now remember him as someone who fought against apartheid?

Now his grandson is amongst one of the many activists that was detained (illegally) by Israel for attempting to give aid to Palestine.

History has a funny way of repeating itself.

No, I remember the world calling him a freedom fighter, but the South African whites -- some of them anyway -- calling him a terrorist.

@ChipmunkErnie that's misleading. The US dictates a lot around the world.

@HijabaDabbaDoo So did the USSR and China back then. Still made no difference to what we thought ourselves.

By they way, he remained on the terrorist list till 2008, long after his presidency ended (1994 - 1999)
@DarthInvader yup, isn't that interesting

Wow isreal seriously needs to see some consequences for its bullying. Food and humanitarian aid certainly isn’t a crime. Plus it wouldn’t be necessary if Israel would drop the facade of victim start acting like an adult and be held to task for all the war crimes it is committing in gaza

Nothing funny about it.. What it does show is that a nation founded as a holy land, by people and for people who were appalling treated by others who saw them as lesser, takes less than a century to sink to the same level as their former tormentors. Humans really are despicable beings..😷
