@Subsumedpat: As a researcher, I am always told to be careful of Wikipedia. You fail to recognize that Palestinian is a nationality that comprise of people from modern day Israel and Jordan. The same goes for Israelis, it's just a nationality. When the British had control of the land, of course the people living there were called Palestinians (sometimes being specified as Jewish or Arab). Now that being said, when the state of Israel was created, there was a need to separate between the groups, which the Zionists have successfully done. So generally, today, if you are Jewish you are Israeli and Arab, you are Palestinian. I think you are missing the whole point of people and their connection to their land. This identity of being Palestinian and wanting freedom and land to be free has spawned from occupation and oppression. The idea and want for Palestine is much deeper than you are making it out to be. Historically I am not disputing you (although some points you make aren't completely accurate :P ), but we need to look at the situation with modern eyes. Oh, and there are many countries who recognize the State of Palestine. Also, Palestine has a government who works with the Israeli government. So, small steps of progress with many more to go.

@Subsumedpat: Culture changes all the time, this is nothing new. I'm not understanding your point in mentioning this. Borders change, groups of people change, that has happened with every group throughout history. Well with your logic, then the Native Americans need to put those of European decent on only a small portion of land, strip some of their rights, and take all the land back, right? Arabs and Jews lived in peace before the Zionist came into control, did you miss that part in history?

You go from saying that Palestinians are a mixture of people to just saying they are Jews. I see you have deleted that comment. So which is it? There seems to be a contradiction in what you are saying. Furthermore I'm confused as to who you count as "Palestinian." Giving me only history doesn't shed light to what you know about the current situation today. No, there would be no division if Zionists did not strive to wipe out the Arabs. So instead of spewing history, talk about the real issues...
