If I wasn't as old as I am those references would have been a lot of history for a slow reader like myself to digest.
That'd be the reason for the retroactive continuity aspect. So I'll point out what things aren't being said in the article.
Some might say that the only reason for the attempted establishment was reactionary and to detach blame. Or as the author put it, "cure" the arabs of [ 1948 ]
Why nobody questions how when and who could have benefited from the assassination without consequence, one that led to every conflict since is beyond my understanding.
It's not that difficult to figure out given the era that it took place. England and the US sure would have had it easier if he'd lived and Isreal was and remained optimistic that they could maintain peace.
Who didn't like another free state democracy being established on that side of the world and would have the temerity to butcher a king? Certainly not us and definitely not Isreal. And I am optimistic that peace inclined arabs and even those in russia today are smart enough to recall the blowback from those events.
Even if they got swept under the rug that Nikita had to do his Russian dances before a drunken Stalin on.
That should have ended it by 1989 at the latest but for the usual crummy foreign policies from all sides.
The mantra "defund" this or that never gets sent to matters of leaders stacking up "defense supplies" just enough to slow down armageddon but not slow enough to stop a thousand desert hillbillies from seeing a chance to be used by princes to expand their already excessive spheres of influence.
It might also be a bad idea to leave military hardware laying after a decision to leave that converts into everything from more money to more fighting.
Nobody saw this coming after the Afghan pull out though. I guess. That's let's go Brandon for ya.
I'm thinking that if they'd have deployed the most careful surgeons and exised the bad meat with a couple of German shepherds from the gitgo that would have worked better.
Anything else? These schlong measuring contests are getting outa hand.

@SteelHands The article has nothing to do with Afghanistan. If you want to blame someone for that, you should blame Trump. He's the one who released 5000 Taliban fighters and came up with the withdrawal timeline.

@LeopoldBloom No. I'll leave the blame game to the international bankster syndicates, all talk no brain career politicians, and if there is any left over the wall street investor war profiteers can take their share.
Just as-
There was never a confederate States of America to anyone outside the one's only using the name as a launch point for war.
Likewise Arafat.
Any fledgling state's first act to declare war on its neighbors negates its being anything more than an excuse to wage war.
