While he was cleaning her face before putting her in a body bag, he said he took her earring as a memory.
Calling her (and her brother Tariq who also passed) calling them “ruh el ruh” this is Arabic for when you really love someone, calling them “my soul” as a rough translation.
The ironic thing is that I’m bawling while this man is smiling, I wish I had his faith and his strength. Stay strong grandpa! 💪🏻
Rest in peace, Reem and Tariq, along with the 8,000+ children who were killed.
