Depends on your position within the government. I would never want to live outside of America. Maybe some Western European countries. But if you are in with the government. You live a pretty decent life. If not. You could be a starving farmer.

I saw a clip recently in which two young defectors were interviewed. They really opened up about the realities people face there.
So very hard to watch.
