Cost for avocados in New Zealand now

When I was wondering through the fruit and vegetables section at my local grocery store. Where I live in New Zealand. Notice that avocados are now.$5.99 for one avocado.Not even kidding. When I saw that. Thought no not paying that. For one avocado no thanks

Avocado Season in New Zealand is August to February. Currently the off season hence higher prices. Australia however has started it's season and bought some last week @ $1 each.

@Thinkerbell it’s because of recent natural disasters. Which pretty much did lots of damage to fruit orchards in the North Island
