I am moving to Korea soon

In less than 3 weeks I am moving to Korea to teach English. My current boss here in the US is Korean and I told him a couple days ago that my school is making me start my training the day after I arrive in Korea. He doesn't think that's right and is worried. He told me to message my recruiter and ask her if i can get a few days rest first after i arrive. today he asked what i said and then asked to see the message. I acted like I thought i sent the message but couldn't find it. he thought i lied and scolded me. (i DID lie but he doesn't have to know that). The thing about Korean culture is that you need to respect Koreans who are older than you and above you in your workplace and not argue, even if you might be right. It's not fair but that's the way it is over there. although my boss is Korean, he was raised in the US so i don't mind talking to him that way but don't want to make a bad impression with my recruiter or my new employer in Korea. Lol anyway, my boss seemed frustrated and wanted to call the recruiter himself. Lol jeez
