Some more about the Carabinieri

My father has been with the Carabinieri for all of his working life and he has been progressing through several different stages within. He became the tactical leader of the Sicilian branch until he was transferred to handle specific tasks in Naples, when I was eight years old. When I was eighteen he was once more transferred to a ministerial role here in Rome. He has been at the ministry since then.

Carabinieri training is multifaceted, encompassing rigorous basic police and military training, as well as specialised instruction in areas like forensic investigation, counterinsurgency, linguistics, and technical skills. The training aims to prepare officers for their dual role as both a police force and a military service, with specialized centers providing training for roles in public order, mountain operations, cybersecurity, and international missions. Aspirants undergo physical, psychological, and educational evaluations to qualify for the demanding programs.
