These ships, part of China’s advanced signals intelligence fleet, are equipped to track missile launches and intercept radar, communications, and telemetry data.
Defense analysts have speculated these vessels may be providing real-time intelligence support to Iran, relaying surveillance data including Israeli aerial and missile movements.
