What's wrong about the war

that president Trump started? Well, I tried to explain it as simple as possible only last week. Keep your eye on the "meat and potatoe" issues. Don't start something that will get you without that, something that will result you into being much poorer in the end.

The 415–413 BC Sicilian Expedition was a truly epic catastrophic failure for the Ancient Greek city state of Athens, marking a crucial turning point in the Peloponnesian War with Sparta and its allies and initiating the total collapse of the Athenian Empire. Over 200 ships and 40,000 men were lost (most killed or sold into slavery), resulting in a severe naval, financial, and political crisis from which Athens never fully recovered. The lesson learned there for any state thereafter should be: don't stretch yourself out for others to break you.

Good on the Taoiseach for his defence of Starmer, Europe and peace...

I'm no historian or political scientist but it seems that Trump has no option but to say, "We're done!", and leave. This will leave Israel isolated. It will have to decide whether it will want to use it's nuclear weapons or capitulate. My suspicion is that were nuclear weapons to be used on Iran, Pakistan would destroy Israel. I don't see any way that a zionist state can remain in the middle east and I suspect that it also will be very difficult for the people living there to find refuge. Just my thoughts.

@Tastyfrzz Oh dear, you really think that the Israelis will use their nukes on Iran?

A small collection of tRump's Iran statements and excuses

2026-03-17: “Because of the fact that we have had such Military Success, we no longer ‘need,’ or desire, the NATO Countries’ assistance — WE NEVER DID!”

2026-03-16: “Look what happened, in the last two weeks. They weren't supposed to go after all these other countries in the Middle East. Those missiles were set to go after them. So they hit Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait. Nobody expected that. We were shocked!”

2026-03-15: “I’m demanding that these countries come in and protect their own territory, because it is their territory. It’s the place from which they get their energy. And they should come and they should help us protect it. … Why aren’t they doing it?”

2026-03-15: “Militarily, we’ve — as far as I’m concerned — we’ve essentially defeated Iran. ... You could make the case that maybe we shouldn’t even be there at all, because we don’t need it. We have a lot of oil. But we do it. It’s almost like we do it for habit.”

2026-03-10: “The situation was very quickly approaching the point of no return, and the United States found it intolerable, in my opinion, based on what Steve and Jared and Pete and others were telling me, Marco also involved, I thought they were going to attack us.”

2026-03-09: “I think the war is very complete, pretty much. [Iran has] no navy, no communications, they've got no air force. Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones.”
That same day, Hesgeth posted on Xitter: “We have Only Just Begun to Fight” and “no quarter, no mercy.”
