The current Iran war ceasefire negotiations with Trump

Trump keeps begging Iran to sign his agreement. Iran won’t sign until Trump agrees to all their demands which includes investing $300 billion into Iran to pay for all the damage that US attacks have caused.

Iran knows that Trump only has till November to have any negotiation “leverage” and they are happy to wait till after the elections to negotiate with trustworthy adults.

Trump will still be President of the USA though, won't he, whatever the November election returns?

If America generally expresses considerable disapproval of President Trump in that election, the Iranians will certainly like that, even if only for propaganda; but they still want an end to the fighting that does not leave them disadvantaged.

What I think matters more to the Iranians that the US President's domestic standing, is that however this needless war ends, he cannot use it to claim "victory", or that it was some war he "ended".

The Tehran government runs a nasty regime responsible for considerable unrest in the Middle East, but to be fair to them the Iranians have a lot of self-respect, and they did not start the war.

@justanothername Oh - I didn't realise that could happen! Thankyou for the information.

@ArishMell oh it can happen alright. If the Democrats can flip enough Republican seats in the house and the senate with mid term votes they can take power back.. right now there is a frantic redistricting race going on across the States which was started by the Republicans in Texas who tried to illegally redistrict Texas to give Republicans more seats in the Texas Senate and eliminate a bunch of Democratic areas. Then who thing back fired on Republicans. In response to those efforts California held a redistricting vote and created more Democratic seats in the California senate and then other states decided to do the same thing. Over all Democrats have come out better off than Republicans. Trumps main concern overall this is that if Democrats do well at the mid terns in November Trump KNOWS he’s fucked so he’s trying everything he can to stop that from happening but the Democrats are on to him.

@justanothername Obviously as a foreigner I can't take sides but since the USA has effectively only two Parties, both need be strong, sincere, consistent and of very high probity for all Americans' sake.
