It's actually been going on since those early settlers from Britain arrived in North America and called their new home "America". That was 250 years ago!

There has always been a power struggle which dates back to those early days. That power struggle actually began back in England with the King whom they were all fleeing. They had issues with him and then they reinvented their issues in their new homeland in America, which means the boat trip for most of them solved nothing.
