Taking their country back? From whom? They never lost it - their Persian ancestry is one of the oldest societies in the world, and the Iranians are very proud of that.
Whether they will lose it, is another matter - the worst possible outcome for everybody would be the country collapsing into chaos.
Watching journalists had wondered if the role would pass to Mojtaba Khamenei, but it has only just been decided and confirmed officially by the Iranian government "Assembly of Experts" (senior clerics).
A little nepotism goes a long way... without knowing anything about the family, we might wonder if this is the start of a dynasty, like an extreme-theocratic version of North Korea's extreme-Communist 'Kimilism'.
