I'd urge everyone to look about and get informed. Today I've found out that the crazed people who want regime change don't even mention the people of the country for real. Just have a listen at what they say.

Jon Stewart here is joined with Ben Rhodes, co-host of "Pod Save the World" and former Deputy National Security Advisor, and Christiane Amanpour, CNN's Chief International Anchor and host of "Christiane and The Ex Files with Jamie Rubin." Together, they trace the complex history that brought us to this moment, examine Trump's response to the escalation, and explore why achieving peace remains far more challenging than waging war:

I stand for peace and for Life. I do not support any attacks on Iran or Gaza or Syria or Lebanon or the West Bank or Iraq or..... Ever notice the one thing all these wars have in common? A wise friend of mine once opined that the more fights you are involved in the more likely it is that you are the one in the wrong.

@hippyjoe1955 Conflict is human nature. Always has been and always will be.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@RunTheJulz Which proves???? We are to give in to our most base instincts or we are to try to rise above them?
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 conflict is a natural human behavior. It’s really no different than procreation. Morality has no place in this action/reaction situation.

@hippyjoe1955
Which proves????
Nothing to prove. Just look at human history. Wars have always been fought. The reasons may vary. Organized religion is a big reason. Resources are another reason. This isn’t rocket surgery. It’s pretty basic and obvious.

@RunTheJulz So you and your neighbour have a disagreement about the branches of a tree that spread over your property. The neighbour won't trim his tree and it bothers you because his tree is dropping leaves on your property. Is your first instinct to shoot your neighbour or to have a face to face discussion with him?
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 Well if you do a simple web search you will find a surprisingly large number of incidents where people have shot their neighbor over the very situation that you’ve just posed.
Would I personally do that. No. Because I know that it’s not a good idea to go to war with your neighbor and such a minor issue is easily resolved with a little tree trimming.
Do people go straight to shooting their neighbors over something this simple? Absolutely.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@RunTheJulz No one is saying otherwise. The question is do you excuse such action or do you work to stop such action?
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 And by saying otherwise you mean? Do I excuse the tree branches? No because if they are on my side of the fence then I can trim them as I see fit.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@RunTheJulz I am simply pointing out that humans are base creatures without some sort of civilising influence. When it comes to war - let us be the civilising influence rather than a cheerleader.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 I think you are looking at this from an idealistic point of view and I’m trying to explain to you that it’s in our biology to fight and kill one another and it has been since humans began.
I understand that you don’t like war. I don’t like war but I’m realistic about the fact that people are not peaceful by nature. If there’s a resource and there’s only enough of it for one tribe to sustain life and two tribes exist in the area of said resource. They are going to fight to the death for it.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@RunTheJulz So you want eternal wars? Wars without ceasing? War because someone looked at someone sideways? Which arm of the Military Industrial Complex do you work for?
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 so you missed the part where I said that “I don’t like wars”.
Keep trying with your reading comprehension skills. You’ll get better…
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 btw reality is that wars will continue for the rest of our lives.. bummer I know. But it’s accurate.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@RunTheJulz Except you are all in favour of them because they are just part of our human nature and providing arms to combatants is no different that giving food to the hungry.
RunTheJulz · 46-50, F
@hippyjoe1955 you have an exceptionally large cognitive dissonance. Congratulations. Life must be difficult when accuracy isn’t your strong suit…
Stop trying to make assumptions based on your misperceptions about me and you just might learn something. Or not. I don’t think you can actually get the gist of anything that I’ve said.

@RunTheJulz So we should simply accept evil? Man rapes woman. Oh that is just human nature. Neighbour kills neighbour oh that is just human nature. Mob loots store - oh that is just human nature, Big girl beats up little girl - oh that is just human nature......
