@Bumbles Neither am I. But I also know what the current situation in Iran is the direct result of the UK and the US playing at empire and that American "concern" about the Islamic Republic of Iran is not because it is a theocracy. Washington is totally cool with the Saudis and the Gulf States.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Our man, the Shah! I'm afraid if you one seeks consistency in the application of values in the Middle East one will be sorely disappointed.

@Bumbles Not just the Shah but the reason the revolution turned into a theocratic nightmare is because for the Shah apparently bugging mosques was his only line he would not cross. So the only revolt he didn't see coming was from the religious nuts.
