I believe this happened before the game, when the US Team's captain was asked questions by an Iranian journalist, during a press briefing.

The Iranian journalist first scolded him for mispronouncing Iran (the American kid said eyeran, instead of eera~n). The kid apologized, burning him once, and then burned him again, when the Iranian journalist, obviously representing the regime, asked the US kid, how he feels, being black, playing for a racist country. Then came the burn "discrimination is everywhere, but in the US we are making progress, and that's what I'm proud of".

It's important to distinguish between the Mullahs, and the people. These are two different things.
