A hazug embert hamarabb utolérik, mint a sánta kutyát.

Literal Translation: They catch the man who lies sooner than the limping dog.
English Equivalent: A lie has short legs.
Meaning:
Your lies will come to light sooner than you think.

Usage:
You might use this proverb, for example, in a shady situation where you suspect that the other party is lying. It would put a bit of pressure on them.

Ooh Hungarian. The finest English idiom is "hit dog holler" which is that if you were to throw a rock into a pack of dogs, only the dog who is hit will yelp.

This is to illustrate that if you put out a general statement that only one person is offended by, they are not saying something that perhaps they should.

Also don't throw rocks at dogs.

Is there an English spelling for easier pronunciation?
