Around Easter time I met with my sister in Budapest.
We found an Orthodox church when we were walking around and we decided to go there to see how it's like in another country.
On that Saturday we went to the thermal bath and some dudes were trying to flirt and one started saying what they would do that night. When they asked about us I was like now is my chance to get rid of them 😅 so I said the truth, which was that we would go to church because it was Easter for us.
They didn't even believe it at first 😂 In their defense it did sound like we were trying to act like good, celibate christian girls.
The midnight mass was interesting because it was in Russian, Hungarian and Greek. The Greeks were the only ones who kissed when the holy fire came and also the first ones to go while the mass was still going on. But that's how we are, we only go there for the big event and then run out in order to go eat.
We decided to keep our candles lit on our way back to the hostel like we normally do and I'm sure we scared some people on the streets so it was extra fun.
