I Love Hong Kong

I'm not one that is a fan of ethnic nationalism and generally I am a critic of that kind of bullshit ideology so it pains me greatly to say this because in a way it is an ethnic argument for which I'm generally not a fan of.

From my vantage point though colonizism is wrong and that goes for when Team USA does it as well as when the brits did it in the past there's no American hypocriscy where I won't attack my own side for the same things the brits did on my part but When two cultures that are so different come into contact even in a situation of occupying them the way the brits did over a 150 years of british rule in hong kong and the city is very different than most f china.

among other things you cannot have a society like the brits occupy a place for so long without the yellow fever many white men seem to have starting to kick into high gear and what do you know there are british and chinese mixed race children all over the place .

I don't believe the brits could occupy hong kong for over 100 years without some of them sleeping with the Chinese women there and there's no way they could breed that much without the cultures affecting and influencing each other and thus I feel hong kong is in many ways british in a way the rest of china never will be nor understand.

so when Hong Kongers say Hong kong is Not China I actually agree with them, even though it is essentially an ethnic argument.

I am in solidarity with the protesters... however reluctantly.

the culture of hong kong will always be essentially british in a way the rest of china just lacks.

@TaiduGirl Those people are still british in every sense of the word so it's just sad to watch what is happening. Noticing they speak damn nearly perfect english too... like my post talks about there have to be quiet a few of them for whom their connection to britain is even deeper than just "Those people who used to colonize us" and literally is in their blood itself....

I realize this is the legacy of colonialism but in a lot of respects the people of Hong kong are essentially british, and now they're being inducted into China...

I can't imagine how England would feel being governed by Beijing instead of Westminster... They would literally revolt.

if anyone wants to understand how messed up the situation is just imagine what would happen if the UK suddenly were militarily defeated by China and the British people had to change their capital from Westminster to Beijing.

How do you think the People of the UK would react to such horrible news?
