It’s actually cooler here this afternoon than it is in Rome

It’s almost five p.m here, an hour later than it is at home in Rome. It’s two degrees Celsius lower than in Rome too, but we are here on our little island break. We have both only brought our backpacks, of course Chiara packed some of her things in my bag!

The apartment is compact, or bijou as they say these days, but we don’t need much more than somewhere to sleep and maybe make a meal if we don’t dine out one evening. We have the means of washing our clothes if we need to.

I brought one dress, one pair of shorts, sneakers and heels, four pairs of lingerie, six bikinis. Four tees, and my emergency pouch - I am expecting my period. Chiara brought much the same kind of stuff except she brought three dresses!

We have spread on the sunblock and we are in a cove a short walk from our apartment. There are taxis and buses, but I am not sure if we will venture far from where we are located this time.
