I Love Greece

I remember looking down at my dress covered in powdered sugar stains. I was never able to eat Kourabie without spilling a mountain of sweet white dust. We were having dinner with people my husband had become friends with before he met me and it was one of those dinner where there are so many people simultaneously asking you to pass the lamb or the spanakopita that you just end up holding the plates up hoping someone else will take the initiative and grab one. It isn't easy to explain why Greece is one of my favourite places in the world, there are so many reason. Perhaps because of the islands with their white and blue houses barely balancing on cliffs above crystal, clear, blue waters. It was some time ago but the trip still stays vivid in my mind. We were made to feel very welcome by some wonderful, generous people. Wine, everyone trying to add more food to my already overflowing plate, a feeling of radiated warmth and security.
