Mikheil Saakashvili, Georgia's ex-president is attended on the court via a video conference on Wednesday 01 February, 2023 to show the court how much weight has been lost during imprisoned and to request the court for urgent medical treatment.

In 2021, when Saakashvili was 55, and the president of small ex-Soviet state, he was imprisoned for 6 years on accused of misconducting his power, though he claimed it was politically motivated.

His health condition has got worse in jail, where he repeatedly did hunger strikes and complained of been poisoned. Being held in a clinic in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, he has been treating.

He lifted off his T-shirt in a court hearing to show the judge how much weight he had lost in the jail to be allowed to get urgent medical treatment.

According to medical records, his weight has come down from 115 kg to 68 kg due to imprisoned.
