I Love France

The French have a reputation for getting their rear ends saved by a woman, as is the case with St. Joan of Arc -- who on this day in 1429 rode victoriously into Orleans. [c=#BF0000]http://bit.ly/2oVLFGc

They probably won't choose a woman to save them this year, and Madame Le Pen is not really a worthy successor to the Handmaiden of Orleans anyway. [c=#BF0000]http://bit.ly/2oJxUhQ[/c] But her devout Catholic niece Marion Jeanne Caroline Maréchal-Le Pen, who was schooled in a traditionalist Catholic convent, may be. The French are already calling her the modern Joan of Arc.[c=#BF0000]http://bit.ly/2oJpBmg[/c] ,[c=#BF0000] http://bit.ly/1NDVDo3[/c]

After Macron runs France further into a despotic and stagnant gutter -- perhaps she will save the Eldest Daughter of the Church.

We French have a way of abandoning those who saved us. I'm not a French citizen but many of my French ancestors were some of the very earliest new world settlers who escaped the political and religious turmoils in France.

I did once have the opportunity to visit Rouen and see the spot where St Joan was burned at the stake. Why did it take so many years .... centuries .... for the French and the Church to correct their mistreatment and betrayal of their savior? It has since served as another reminder that kings and men in black and scarlet robes are too often seduced by the power of politics and serve their own ambitions rather than the spiritual, physical and social needs of God's children.
