I Live In Canada

[big]I Need Contacts in Canada[/big]

I have a friend 18 years old in Europe who wants to move to Canada but he needs help, someplace to live, ideally a family. The boys parents have abandoned him. I had planned to bring him to the US but our horrible president has changed the rules that now make that impossible.

I am looking for people in Canada willing to help me find a home for him. In August he will complete the requirements to be a licensed electrician so he is employable.

If you are willing to help me find a home, give suggestions, sources of aid, etc., please message me.

I find it strange that an 18 year old should be considered abandoned. I also find it strange that you would want to bring him to America. Lastly, I find it strange that you think Canada a second best option. It's the better destination.

Also- I thought the problem was reversed by the justice department. I might be out of touch with latest news.

I find that strange also. An 18 year old is not abandoned. He is of majority. I question why he wants to bring him over to live here.
It is a long and complicated problem that I am not going to discuss publicly. He has no functioning parents and has not had since he was 14. He is not yet 18 but will be during summer. There is a lot of misunderstanding about getting into the US. It requires a VISA. Only certain categories can get in. The local college stopped issuing papers for student visa. There was a category that he could have used to get here but the rules were changed to require a bachelor's degree, by combining two categories. The court blocked rules that applied to 7 muslim countries for those who already had visas. As for Canada, they are welcoming immigrants who have skills. US was chosen only because I could arrange for a family where I live and help him get acclimated. I agree that Canada is a much better destination than the US except for the fact that I could help him with jobs, etc., which I had arranged. The immigration lawyer for the company learned about the change in rules yesterday. We have no other category available other than "visitor" which would require that he go back home later.
