This American refuses to buy an American made vehicle. They're junk.

Are BYDs available for sale yet?
gandalf1957 · 61-69, M
@Crazywaterspring I'd stick with Toyota if i were you, I'm not sure that the BYD build quality and resale value will be in the same league as the Toyota.
@Crazywaterspring they arein uk
gandalf1957 · 61-69, M
@kittee i know and that is why i suggest you stick with Toyota !

myotherlife · 61-69, M
I can see why you would.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
wonder what Canadians think would happen is US manufacturers based in Canada actually left... 🤔
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@wildbill83 same thing 8 year olds would think if their parents left the house for good (“this is gunna be awesome !”).
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
US companies account for 50% of Canada's production & 40% of it's jobs (70% of those jobs are in automotive industry), which contributes 15-20% of their total GDP...
surely teslas are american, very popular in uk
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Also boycott American booze if it comes back on the shelf. Do not relent in the boycott.
@JimboSaturn Apparently Ontario alone is pretty much destroying the Kentucky Bourbon industry.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Supposedly most people will continue the boycott. I hope so especially if we are still going to be hit with illegal tarrifs after this week.
in uk ford and gmc are very popular
1490wayb · 61-69, M
is ford still in windsor?? remember the 1970's ford 351 engine??
Now that we will be able to buy BYD buying American is just setting money on fire.
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
Good Canada, hit America in the money bag, maybe it will learn something from it
1490wayb · 61-69, M
everyone should try to support their own manufacturing infrastructure as much as possible. but too many items are made elsewhere because of low costs
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Canada is filled with people who couldn't care less about Canada. If some Indian wants a certain car then he'll just buy it.
@Munumbis The post was mostly to get people thinking about it. Like the liquor boycott, only larger. It can't be a government boycott though, that will just instill wrath from the pink taco. This needs to be a peoples choice thing.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@SoftIceCream My reply was to get people thinking about the fact that Canada is being filled with people who don't care about it or its history. Lots of them don't know much about Trump either and don't care. If they thought they'd get something from him they'd clammer to support whatever he does.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@Munumbis Their TDS and immigration polices are quickly wiping out what little nationalism remains in Canada; in another 20-30 years, they'll be minorities in their own country...
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
You should just buy Canadian cars from that Canadian car manufacturer . What’s their name again ?
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Crazywaterspring was that like the Yugo? (You go nowhere)
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@AthrillatheHunt It was a unique sports car in the 70s.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@Crazywaterspring I saw. 5 year production run? Same as the Yugo.
If you want reliability you shoulda been buying Japanese or Korean anyway, you shouldn't have waited til now to stop buying American crap cars
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@SnickersDOM I've had only made in Korea vehicles since 1988. I inherited a Mercury. It was donated to someone who needed a vehicle. Its engine self destructed less than a year later.
We abuse them anyway, don't even deserve to be in that industry.
