OMG that is horrible, the things people do for money. Canada has always been a dream vacation for me, I love the woods and hiking and nature. Native people should not be suffering for someone else, they owned the land first and should be respected. I guess I can still visit Banff and Jasper? or has that all gone for mining as well?
@TeenWonder It seems to be mostly around the southern end of Wood Buffalo National Park, and north of Fort McMurray where they had that fire that burned the town down years ago. I suspect it is expanding at a rapid rate because nobody is even looking at it. If you look on Google Earth you can see huge areas they have scoured away. Really the earth killing part is what they are doing with all of that poisonous water. They must find a way to extract the oil without using water. Why can't they compress it, or heat it, or use vibration to separate it? The government should step in and shut it all down until an alternative method is found that isn't killing humans and animals everywhere.
