Canada has oil and refineries, why don't we separate from this global oil crisis

Why do we have to suffer high gas prices when a tyrant decides to kill women in children in a foreign nation far far away?
We have our own oil and refineries, why not just set our own prices and ignore the global barrel price?

Our refineries aren't equiped to process tar sands oil.

@CleverGirl You’re right, the eastern ones aren’t, but all the western ones can! We do have oil that has been refined that the refineries in the east can use!!
