You think I'm joking! Let me tell you something even LESS believable...
In Canada, the Provincial Police (equivalent to State Troopers) actually park un-manned Police Interceptor cruisers along a stretch of highway while parked in the center median, who's purpose is to get cars to slow down but doing so without the cost of manpower to do the job.
At the end of the day, a crew of cops go out in a bus and retrieve each cop car and return it to their base for the night!
The reason they do it is because it actually works!

@swirlie I know, I was born and raised in Canada as my Parents were Diplomatic Corps in both Ottawa and Montreal in the 60's and 70's. I've seen those OPP Cruisers parked with no one in them but they were missing the "Inflatable Cop" in them 😀 and they are right, it does work, well for most people 🤪 They usually do it on long Holiday weekends.

@swirlie Yes, I've even driven on some of them over the years back visiting, some people even use dummies or manequins in an attempt to avoid fines for driving in those lanes alone 😱

@swirlie You have to wonder how many of them are using the blowup dollies for more nefarious things when not in use for the HOV lanes 😱😀
