I arrived in Canada last night from Sweden to join a client-friend of mine who invited me to join her and her friends for a week of Canada Day celebration on Lake Huron, which is in Ontario.

She has a a big cottage rented on the beach with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms and lots of hot and cold running water! The weather so far is perfect in Toronto and should be about 25*C/ 80*F all week long with NO rain out at Lake Huron!

Happy Canada Day, to all my Canadian friends I've met here at SW! 🇨🇦

...oh no! ...just like how those big green tomato caterpillars I find in my tomato patch can somehow always find a way to hitch a ride on my skin!
@SandWitch Aww.. those are cute.

...and so are black flies very cute!
Was in Canada for Canada Day last year .. it was a bit underwhelming, to be honest .. but the people were great throughout the trip

@BrandNewMan overwhelming 😆
@WowwGirl It was far less celebrated publicly than our 4th of July tends to be

I was in the USA last year during America's Independence Day celebration on the 4th of July and I thought the exact same thing you did... that the US celebration was astonishingly "UNDERwhelming", considering all the chest-pounding that Americans typically do for their self-validation all year long!

What has happened to America? No parades? No funny hats? No yankee-doodle-dandies marching in the streets anymore?

What has happened to Americans since Trump closed off his borders to the rest of the world, I wonder? 🤔
