Canadian SWeeps, is Carney selling us down the river?

A smart and cynical friend of mine floated her theory, a while back, that our new Prime Minister has some kind of secret behind-the-scenes deal with the American president, and is just pretending to stand up for Canada. Recent news is making me wonder if she is right :( CBC/Radio Canada reported the other day that Canada-US negotiations on trade and defence are in full swing. Apparently it currently looks as if Canada will participate in the proposed American "golden dome" system. It was also looking as if the 50% tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum are not going anywhere. Carney said he would not sign any deal that is not good for Canada, but how would entrenching ourselves even deeper in a US military system under the control of a president who wants to annex us, and caving in on these crippling tariffs, be good for us? "Something is rotten in the [51st?] state of Canada" :(

The "Golden Dome" is a decade away from reality. It will not be the current administration managing it. And these tariffs will also be short-lived. We (the USA & Canada) have been friends a very long time. This will not change.
@sarabee1995 We (you and I) have also been friends a long time and I hope that will not change!
