@sstronaut Yeah but they'll put Vance at the head of the movement, or someone similar. Also there's virtually nothing preventing them to cheat on the next election in order to ensure a consistent red result even if only <10% of the country supports him - and it won't go anywhere that low with unchecked propaganda, AI and both traditional and social media on their side, no matter how bad things get
@Elessar Well with the mass negative reactions he seems to be getting for his "beautiful, very beautiful" plans... he's setting himself up to get screwed in the 2026 elections, which could put Congress back in control of the Democrats, which would limit ability to cheat.
Vance is a GREAT butt kisser, but his direction changes with the wind of what gives him more political favor, if he became President, I'm not sure he would listen to others, I think he would then do what he thought was best.
And I think Marco Rubio has a better shot than Vance, the US has not had a VP directly go from VP to President yet this century, and usually the VP gets a lot of baggage connected to them.

@sstronaut Nothing prevents them from meddling with the 2026 midterm either, though. The last useful time was 2024 I fear. Also the lesson from Biden's presidency is that a solid half of the democrat party doesn't really care in the slightest about stopping MAGA. You'd need the AOC/Sanders half of the democrat party to take control of congress, which is unrealistic.
I don't know what's exactly used as "strings" to move these people, but I've heard the same about Trump: «once he becomes president-dictator, he won't need Russia anymore so he'll no longer have to favor Putin». But last I checked, he's still acting for all practical purposes as a Russian agent. Similarly, I don't think Vance becoming president would "free" him from the grip of whoever is controlling him (Thiel?).
Maybe, but still, the final outcome wouldn't change. All these people are just spokepersons, they're all replaceable, those who move the strings won't change.

@Elessar Okay, this whole meddling conspiracy stuff is getting extremely annoying, so I'm going to bow out of the conversation...
Yes, anything could happen, outer space Alien could come down and kills us all before 2026...
But lets focus on the likely outcomes and not overly focus on the extremes, thanks, I'm out and have a good one

@sstronaut Dude, this is thew movement that won an election literally campaigning on "dictator on day one", right after staging a coup to remain grappled to power once they lost one they evidently didn't manage to meddle in enough (with documented evidence of some meddling already happening, see Georgia) - there's extensive literature on this world about how such people operate, both historically and contemporarily. It is beyond denial claiming this is a conspiracy.
@Elessar You are misunderstanding where I'm coming from.
What you are talking about was not successful.
You are talking about it. I'm living it.
I don't like thinking about committing suicide. So I don't like going down the horrible road your hypothetical going down.
My reaction was nothing against you.
But Trump attempts to break elections law was unsuccessful.
Trump got back in, as the following administration was horrible, as Biden was mentally out of it, and picked an extreme VP who was actually running things...
I'm extremely hopeful that after seeing Trump being even more extreme he'll be rejected once again like they did in 2020
Hopefully with a more more moderate admission than the ones since 2014.

@sstronaut ....signs of mental decline? Already? I thought mental instability is now enshrined in the US Constitution as one of the preriquisites for their presidency! The Lord knows Russia has it in theirs too, and Isreal too! Is this in the water, the air or the food from McDonalds?
