Time for Canada to choose or sit back and watch.

It has not even protected it's borders.

pretty sure we have just one border with one other nation....what can we do with just one tank?

@beermeplease borders are porous

@beermeplease What? Point that thing west toward Russia at a 45° angle and load your highest pressure ammunition. Give the Alaskans a heads up you might come up short. Then fire that SOB.
@DanielsASJ but we had it so good for a long time.
@DanielsASJ Protect it from what exactly?

Tariffs? Last time I checked kinda hard to protect from that, and not worth getting too seriously upset about

@sstronaut @DanielsASJ @beermeplease guys I haven't seen it worded as such here but border protection and Canada as far as the US is concerned is to keep your immigrants from becoming ours. That's what Trump was originally harping on Trudeau about.
@Gibbon Is that what this post is about?

Because generally speaking, I haven't thought about the US/Canada as a serious concern of any kind. 🤷

@sstronaut When he mentioned border protection that was the only possibility that came to mind. I have never heard it discussed from the US side until Trump bought that up.
@Gibbon After 9/11 I had family members work the Canadian border... it sucked as they were away from family, but automatically overtime as they were working 48 to 60 hours were week and could volunteer an additional 8 to 10. But then you'd have no days off.

Sounded mostly mind numbingly boring...

Sure something would come up, sooner or later, but mostly just innocent people trying to go to work, or on a trip.

Felt bad for this one lady, sounded like she was clearly an adult services working girl, barely and badly dressed, she left one country, and got in the middle and then neither country wanted to let her in...
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@sstronaut That would be like being in the Rio Grand and having Mexico refuse you to go back south and you can't get into Texas.
Yup after 9/11 a lot of extra border security measures went into all over the US and Canada as well as countries on the other sides of both ponds.
@Gibbon Well, I think her home country finally let her back in, but she was trying to cross the boarder for a job...

Neither side thought she was dressed enough that they wanted to let her in.
