With my dad snoring beside me in the living room, I shall devote my remaining minutes down here to think in type, like I often like to do. Lately i've not felt like I could say anything, the well was dry, just routine, and that's the way i'd like it to be, or at least on the surface, because then I can spend more time storing up knowledge, and not dilly dallying.
However here I'd like to share if I may some thoughts on an election in Canada. And why I didn't see the purpose of myself voting.
1st -- I don't really see and feel anything in my own country as sharply defining between parties, beyond this -- that Conservatives are what my family goes for, and I know at least one of them gets his facts mixed up really easily.
2nd -- Lacking any real knowledge of the parties, I also lack any belief that any of them would be what i'd sincerely want. I don't see a lesser of 2 evils here, and if pressed i'd say the lesser of 3 to 5 evils is the government that we Northerners will have. But my province (Alberta) is pretty Blue, that is Conservative, many of the voters for this party may be fans of the guy in charge in the US, I know a lot of my larger family members are.
3rd -- politics has never intrigued me that much, what's most interesting Historical sources. History is inherently fascinating. And that is why I prioritize reading and learning over having a deluded idea that I could pick a party that would clean up the mess.
a) when I say mess there I am merely falling into stereotypical malcontent language, for it's a no brainier that things are royally and epically messed up. But in Canada a comparison to the recent US election is far fetched I think, as far as I could tell, there's no sticking out like a sore thumb in Canadian politics, it's all more subtle with sticking to the lines of conduct, ergo more subterranean and circumspect.
With History I can see how things went down, knowing well that it was written by the conquerors but even still with books as with news media to take it all as gospel is just plain stupid.
I hate politics, how it has since 2016 for my own family has caused problems with relationships, friendships, my point if there is one here is to not let Politics take up centre stage in one's thoughts, unless it's a job or a passion which enriches your life, I hope i've explained why it's not only dull to me, but tres tragique.
Aesthetics, the study and enjoyment of Beauty in the literary artistic sense is what I'd prefer dwelling my pea sized brain with, which could perchance grow into a mighty Pea-Tree, which will house many nests of Tweety birds for hundreds and hundreds of years.
