I am a Canadian ... and today I voted in our federal election...

I am a Canadian, a Jew and I am licensed to possess firearms including what we call restricted firearms in Canada - which are handguns and I take proficiency VERY seriously..

Of the main parties in Canada being Liberal and Conservative one of these two has shown itself to be deeply anti semitic.. and that same party has repeatedly attacked citizens who are licensed for firearms.. In Canada firearms are not permitted to be used for self defence - their only legal use is for hunting or sport shooting (target shooting).. Handguns are restricted to range use only ... More over one of those parties has had an immigration policy that has resulted in an explosion of anti semitic hate crimes and has caused a crisis in housing and strains on our health care system..

So I voted, then I took my Mother to vote and my Wife will vote tomorrow..

See they want us to be register and licensed to have guns in the USA.

But you can get them so easy here. Its like going to the gas station and buying gasoline.

Many follow the laws and many do not. There are many responsible gun owners that never registered their gun or have a license to carry one.

Because they don't want the government to know they have them. Because they believed in the second amendment shouldn't come with a laws attached to it.

@HumanEarth We have no second amendment - Here a firearm is a privilege not a right..... to get a carry or a concealed carry license in Canada - is a unicorn rarity.. I still will work diligently to try to get one. The purpose - to have it at Jewish venues such as Synagogues and community centres - and no where else.. Why? We are at a dramatically elevated risk of hate crime violence in this country and that fact has been agreed upon by the police chiefs and crown attorneys across the nation and they have and manage the statistics that prove it.. Most synagogues do not have the funds for armed security officers.. However a congregant with a license and proof of proficiency provides protection at no cost to the congregation..I can establish proficiency with proof from my range.. I can hit the head of a rat (2" centre target) at one hundred feet ten out of ten times... If I had my pistol and a terrorist came into the sanctuary... He would quickly regret his decision.

That's great skill. It just sucks that they do that to everyone. When just little over years ago. Everyone could own guns, boarders didn't matter, and terrorist came from its own government.

But once they got all the North American Indians nearly wiped out to near extinction. That's when the governments governments started to turn against its own citizens and find reasons to take guns away from people

@HumanEarth Its partially skill and partially technology.. I use a semi automatic 22 calibre target pistol with a bull barrel and I have had it fit with a reflex sight.. a red dot.. No recoil, and with that sight extremely easy to aim and exceptionally and consistently accurate.. The ongoing persecution of gun rights in Canada has evolved and has become exceedingly invasive.. Its time to impart some common sense into this idiocy.. We are in desperate need of a Conservative majority government...
