@JamesBugman When I was a young officer in the CAF I was asked by my officer commanding an interesting question. What good has Canada ever done for Alberta. I was stumped. I could not think of one thing that Ottawa imposed on Alberta that was for the good of Alberta. It bothered me so much I resigned my commission in the CAF. Scan't years before Ottawa destroyed Alberta's economy with its NEP. Thousands out of work over night. Homes abandoned as people couldn't pay the mortgage. Divorce rates skyrocketed as husband and wife fought over finances. Don't forget the Preston led the "The West Wants In" movement which became the Reform movement which became the CPC party. I'm not a fan of Trump but I would vote for independence from Canada in a nanosecond.

@hippyjoe1955 Did you know that Alberta is the only Canadian province with no provincial sales tax? They have the lowest taxes of any province, only beaten by Nunavut, NWT and Yukon which are all Territories.
They also have most of the oil in Canada which strangely enough, is 80% owned by Americans. So yea, they are big Rumpers over there. I don't think they have anything to complain about, but it's fun to stir the pot and trying to start something ridiculous isn't it.

@JamesBugman I was born in Alberta. I was raised in Alberta. I had to leave Alberta when the NEP destroyed Alberta's way of life. I returned to Alberta and in Alberta I will die. Ontario and East of it can fall off the face of the earth and I couldn't care less. Canada was designed broken and no amount of tweaking it will ever fix that.
