Jewelry stores being robbed in parts of Ontario Canada almost every weekend at several locations.

I used to admin a very huge website. Not going to mention which one here.

And people would regularly post about their stolen phones and devices being located in other countries. And I had to repeatedly tell them that asking locals in some other part of the world to find it is actually dangerous. It is better reported to the authorities directly.

It not uncommon for stolen goods to leave Canada simply through airports. Single cheap online deals and through acquaintances instead. There should be a way to prevent technology related ones at least by requiring proof of ownership.
