Merry Christmas from Canada! Here I am spending Christmas at my friend's parent's farm in Canada instead of with family in Sweden this year!

My friend is actually a business client of mine who introduced me to SW a while back. I was scheduled to fly from Stockholm to Detroit Michigan on a business trip which would take me away over Christmas, so when she found out about it, she invited me to join her and her immediate family about a 30 minute drive from the Canada/US border at Detroit, where she crossed the border and picked me up at my hotel in Detroit, then we turned around and crossed the border back into Canada, then drove for 30 minutes to her parent's tobacco farm!

The reason she introduced me to this site was so that I could practice writing English, which I get very little opportunity to practice in Sweden. Yes, everyone speaks English as a second language in Sweden, but few speak English in their day to day work. My civilian job since I got out of the Royal Swedish Navy, is to write engineering reports to business clients who usually only speak English, so my friend suggested I join this site just to practice writing. She's a professional writer herself so she's been coaching me for free and with great patience I must add!
