Merry Christmas from Canada! Here I am spending Christmas at my friend's parent's farm in Canada instead of with family in Sweden this year!

Looking out our bedroom window on the top floor of this house, I can see right across Lake Erie to Cleveland Ohio on the other side! There's a ship in the lake!

Merry Christmas to you. Not much different from Sweden I imagine. Just as cold and snowy.
Near Windsor area?

No, it's very different from winter in Sweden! This week I witnessed freezing rain which coated the bare grass with ice which was a strange sight to see! Couldn't stand up on their gravel laneway because it was covered with ice!

@SandWitch Freezing rain isn’t uncommon in these parts. Days might be a bit longer here in winter than in Stockholm

That's what I'm learning about freezing rain! Must be fun to drive in too! Very true, the night starts in Stockholm at about 3:30pm these days!

@SandWitch They had longer days in summer when I was there so figured they’d be shorter now
Yes. Driving in snow and ice can be interesting

It's hard to go to bed early in Stockholm during summer because the sun is still shining when I close my bedroom drapes at 10pm!

@SandWitch Yeah was weird. And back up early too. Same in Oslo

A good night's sleep requires a lot of pre-planning and self-discipline to just go to bed and pretend that it isn't light outside!

@SandWitch I can imagine. I was only there for few days and spent most of it seeing the city. Didn’t have any trouble falling asleep as I was exhausted from site seeing
