Australia Confused

Two New Zealand flags mistakenly raised among 44 Australian flags at Parliament House for Australian National Flag Day

Parliament House has suffered an embarrassing blunder on Australian National Flag Day, as two of the 44 flags raised in a ceremony were New Zealand flags.

Current Design Timeline

New Zealand's current design: A version of the dark blue ensign with four red stars was used from 1869 and officially recognized under the New Zealand Ensign Act in 1902.

Australia's current design: Chosen in 1901 and officially approved by King Edward VII in 1903, though it did not become the statutory national symbol until the Flags Act 1953 took effect in 1954.

To Avoid Confusion...Australia change your bloody flag...although I hope New Zealand changes it first.

Maybe it was the right flag originally, but the stars then entered their red giant phase. 😁

Someone should send this blooper to Sheldon Coopers "Fun with Flags"😷
Maybe they ran out of the Ausi flag and thought nobody would notice.
