Complacency, the 'Tall Poppy Syndrome', and an inability to care about things that actually matter.
All of the above, combined with an inability to "think big", a lack of imagination, and a ready acceptance, and encouragement of, mediocrity.
They are the "qualities" that define Australia. No ambition, no grand visions. Just inertia, and the belief that "she'll be right mate". Ugh! 🤮
Most of them don't even care about how they look in public! I thought it was just an obscene rumour when I first came across it, but it's actually true that many will go out to the shops without shoes and wearing pyjamas. 😳
And the anti-intellectualism in this country is disgraceful and disturbing. Apparently their idea of our society being "egalitarian" is that we should all be equally stupid.
Australia has no future. None. "Americans" have many vices, many flaws, but at least when they do something they really commit to it (ex. going to the moon), and they are usually overflowing in their confidence in their ability to get things done. They'll often brag about how good they are at everything, how apparently they're 'Number One', and even though it's often not true, at least they're willing and able to stand up to the world and say, "This is who we are, and if you don't like it, you can get lost".
But Australians? "Gimme another beer, cos I'm not drunk enough yet, because my footy team lost (burp)".
