Supreme Court declares Trumps tariff binge illegal

So that great big beautiful pot of cash that was going to pay for everything, including all those cheques everyone was getting just disappeared. And it gets worse. Some countries (like mine) are due refunds. Australia in in line for a $1.4 billion return of funds. No. We dont want it in used submarines.. Gold will do nicely..😷

Sorry, but Australians aren't due any refunds. Not one penny.

Foreign exporters did not pay the tariffs. American importers pay the tariffs (and generally pass on the cost of those tariffs to their American consumers).

@beckyromero Thats OK. We will make it back in the new contract negotiations the US will have to make now. Note we didnt place a single return tariff on the US over this, unlike a lot of others. But she found other buyers. So if you want our gold, rare earth, uranium, not to mention beef to make your burgers edible, be prepared to pay.😷
