A preacher was attacked in my city during a Sunday morning church service after a homeless man entered the church during the services. The preacher was beaten. I live in central Oklahoma and my city has had a large influx of homeless and transients in recent years. This isn’t the first attack. Two employees in businesses have also been attacked and there have been murders by homeless and transients. It is getting rough out on the streets and the population has spread out and not just concentrated in the area with the shelters. Salvation Army announced a while ago that they will be closing down.Businesses are closing and moving leaving real estate up for lease or for sale as well.
@cherokeepatti so sad Patti …

@NoGamesTolerated This city is going to hell in a hand basket. I don’t feel safe in the little neighborhood park at the end of this addition. I used to take walks and rest there. There is a strip of woods that it backs up to and about 4 years ago I was there one morning and rested and felt like eyes were watching me. Got up and got out of there quickly and never went back. Same thing happened to my neighbor a couple years ago when she was there while walking. She won’t go back either. Could see a path and litter strewn in that strip of woods. Police say homeless will sleep there, They found a lot of empty spray-paint cans. So many with history of being sex offenders or violent offenders or who are on meth etc. can’t get into housing so they find any place they can hide out in. There is a Walmart store a few blocks away on the other side and they’ll go there and eat their way through the store and get their spray paint on the way out. Many of the parks here are getting polluted in a variety of ways making them unsuitable for families with children. Splash pads are being used for showers and they are bold enough to do it when children & mothers are using them…they end up leaving. Libraries are getting used a lot as well and there was a warning by a volunteer at one of the shelters & she also volunteered at one library saying some who are hanging out all day are spreading germs from some serious diseases. Hepatitis and MRSA etc.
@cherokeepatti Yeah ..dark days and really anyone is a target for predators of evil in these times. These are those ‘perilous times’ the Bible warns us about. Its a good thing you listened to your intuition and left. It’s when we don’t listen, we find ourselves in trouble.

@NoGamesTolerated Truth. And it’s good to pray for protection before leaving the house no matter where we go or how we are getting there.
@cherokeepatti More than ever Patti. We go out now and don’t know if we will come back home. You can’t let your guard down cause you never know when someone is lurking to pounce on you.
